Final Project Week 1: Project Roles

    To finish off week one of our final project, my group and I decided to go over what roles each of us would cover for this project. I also wanted to address a quick update in our script, we have decided on names for our main characters! Our main girl's name is Harper and her best friend's name is Nia. We picked these names because of their meanings, for Harper, the direct meaning is "someone who plays the harp" but it can also mean an entertainer, and Harper as a character is tired of being an "entertainer" for others like her mom, she wants to follower her dreams. For Nia her name means "bright" or "bringer of light" and we picked this name since Nia, as a character, purpose is to bringing light into Harper's life and helping her heal as a person. Anyway I digress, let's get back on topic of what our roles are. We are basically sticking to the roles we had during our last film project with a few modifications. The biggest one is we have a specific role for people to assist in editing so no one person is stuck editing. We also had a hard time deciding who would play Harper, it was either between Paris or Hannah (I was already decided to play Nia since I am the only one who could drive, and Nia is seen driving in one scene). The main debate was about who could play Harper the best and who had the best camera work since whoever did not play Harper would be behind the camera most of the time. Personally, I think Hannah would fit the role of Harper the best since her personal aesthetic matches best with Harper's planned style but Paris expressed her doubts about her ability to man the camera since she had little experience last time. However, I think once we teach her the ropes she will do just fine! Anyway, here is the list of the roles we decided on.
